A Free Exhibition to celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee ....

This exhibition decodes the representation of monarchy and monarchs through their portraits,considers the political and social context of the times in which they were made, and explores Chester’s long relationship with the Crown.

Selected by James Pardoe, Senior Lecturer in History at the University of Chester, the show presents a range of artworks and other objects from the museum’s collection, and highlights the city’s wealth of royal sculpture.

An exhibition created in partnership with the University of Chester and sponsored by Aaron & Partners LLP, Solicitors.
